Sony Xperia Tipo up for preorder for Rs 9,499

The Sony Xperia Tipo is now up for pre-order on FlipKart for Rs 9,499. The Ice Cream Sandwich device has not received an official unveil from Sony Mobile in India, but FlipKart estimates a release in the second week of September that is just three days away.
Apart from this, the Xperia Tipo is clearly designed to cater to a customer on a slightly tight budget. It features a 3.2-inch TFT display with a resolution of 320×240 pixels, a single-core Qualcomm Scorpion processor clocked at 800MHz, a 3.2-megapixel camera, 2.5GB of internal storage, a microSD card slot with support for 32GB of storage and a 1,500 mAh battery. Additionally, the phone will also come with 50GB of free Box cloud storage.
The Tipo will go up against the likes of the Samsung Galaxy Y, and the HTC Desire C. Critically, though it will come a lower price point than the Desire C however will be slightly more expensive than the Samsung Galaxy Y, so it will be interesting to see how it fares.
Key Specifications:
  • 800MHz Qualcomm Scorpion processor
  • 512MB of RAM
  • 3.2-inch TFT display with a HVGA resolution
  • 3.2-megapixel camera
  • 2.5GB of internal storage
  • microSD card slot with support for 32GB of storage
  • 50GB of free Box storage
  • 1,500 mAh battery
